| Dyed Kete Bold, dramatic patterns are created by combining dyed and natural flax, and by varying the weave to create specific designs. Every step of the weaving process is done by hand - cutting the leaves from the flax plant, then preparing, softening and dyeing the strips made from the leaves, and finally weaving the flax into the finished creation. I see my kete as artwork - they look fabulous displayed on the wall, or elsewhere around the house, as a piece of visual art. And as a functional handbag - they can be plucked off the wall, to carry your treasures, when you go out. |
